He had no children. He adopted Nobuchika ODA and Toshiko (俊子) (the second daughter of Nobuharu FUSEHARA, kuge [court noble] and wife of Korei IKOMA, a feudal retainer of the Kaibara Domain). His childhood name was Jomaru (叙丸). His official court rank was Jugoinojo (Junior Fifth Rank, Upper Grade), the Governor of Yamashiro Province.
He was born on March 5, 1840. He was adopted by Nobunori (信敬) ODA, the lord of the Tanba Kaibara Domain on his deathbed to succeed him as the family head on May 10, 1854. On January 23, 1856, he was appointed to Jugoinoge (Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade), the Governor of Yamashiro Province. In 1863, he was mobilized to guard Kyoto when Iemochi TOKUGAWA, the fourteenth Shogun went up to Kyoto. On June 8, 1864, he was promoted to Jugoinojo.
